VNIoC’s ROLE IN THE CVRC FAMILY
A COLLABORATIVE APPROACH TO VETERINARY CARE

At VNIoC, we pride ourselves on being an integral part of the broader Chesapeake Veterinary Referral Center (CVRC) family. Within the CVRC campus in Hunt Valley, we work closely with other practices, whenever the need is indicated.

OUR CARE PHILOSOPHY

With the other practices at CVRC, VNIoC shares a commitment to providing the highest level of compassionate, comprehensive care for our patients.

We understand that the best outcomes often arise from a team approach, and that's why we work hand-in-hand with specialists in numerous fields to create tailored treatment plans for each individual patient.

OUR SPECIALIST NETWORK

Just like your doctor may refer you to a specialist, VNIoC works with a network of veterinary specialists. Some of the key specialties we regularly collaborate with include:

CARDIOLOGY:

If your dog or cat has a heart murmur and we want to make sure that she’s going to be safe for anesthesia, we can request a cardiac consult and even an echocardiogram from Cardiac Care for Pets and have results the same day. Medication, treatment, and anesthesia recommendations are produced by veterinary cardiologists that work in the same building.

ORTHOPEDICS:

Ask any veterinarian, sometimes the most challenging question that we face is determining if a patient has a neurologic or musculoskeletal problem. We consult with the orthopedic surgeons at Chesapeake Veterinary Surgical Specialists (CVSS) to answer those questions and collaborate to come up with a diagnostic and treatment plan.

REHABILITATION (PHYSICAL THERAPY):

Post-surgical or injury recovery often involves physical rehabilitation. Our rehabilitation team provides individualized therapy plans to improve mobility and comfort.

ONCOLOGY:

When cancer is diagnosed, Atlantic Veterinary Internal Medicine & Oncology (AVIMO) oncologists work with us to ensure that treatment is aggressive yet compassionate, addressing both the medical and emotional aspects of the diagnosis.

INTERNAL MEDICINE:

Many times our patients with neurological disease have other problems such as Diabetes Mellitus, kidney disease, or Cushing's disease. The internists at Atlantic Veterinary Internal Medicine & Oncology (AVIMO) help us in diagnosing and managing these complex cases.

OPTHALMOLOGY:

For eye-related issues, Eye Care for Animals ophthalmologists help us manage and treat various conditions such as corneal wounds, sudden blindness, glaucoma, and eye infections.

SOFT-TISSUE SURGERY

The soft-tissue surgeons at Chesapeake Veterinary Surgical Specialists (CVSS) help us in cases requiring abdominal or thoracic surgery.

24/7 URGENT CARE
IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PET+E.R.

Your pet can be seen on an emergency basis through our collaboration with Pet+E.R, the premier 24-hour emergency and critical care center in Maryland. Should a patient's condition worsen or require immediate attention, Pet+E.R’s dedicated emergency team is available immediately, around the clock.

We provide neurological consults for patients initially seen by Pet+ER. This allows patients to be accurately triaged and immediate emergency care can be initiated.

PUT YOUR PET IN GREAT HANDS

We are dedicated to comprehensive and collaborative care for your four-legged pal.

We work with you, your primary care veterinarian, and other veterinary specialists to provide the best possible care for your puppers or kitty.
